Chapter 115 – You Don’t Even Love Him

Zuo Feng paid Di Lin no attention the entire way to the side meeting chambers of the Elemental User Council.

Di Lin turned himself very small and hid inside Zuo Feng’s clothes, occasionally giving Zuo Feng a light scratch here and there. Before, Zuo Feng would at least react a little bit after being scratched at. At the very least, he’d shift positions in response. But this time Di Lin tickled the front of Zuo Feng’s chest, inside his pants, and even at the most sensitive part of a man’s anatomy, and Zuo Feng never moved. Not only did he not move, he actually ramped up his body temperature so that Di Lin felt like passing out from the heat!

Di Lin had no choice but to turn his attention to the backside. He used his skinny arms to touch the crack between Zuo Feng’s butt, just like he’d do whenever they were in bed, though this time, the branch was quite a bit skinnier than what he’d use in bed.

It wasn’t a thick tree branch but a skinny “tree-line” as thin as a thread. Inexplicably, it made Zuo Feng more sensitive than a thick tree branch. Zuo Feng gritted his teeth silently, and the tips of his ears turned an unnatural shade of red.

That shameless Di Lin! Never serious for one moment!

Not only doesn’t he know to be considerate, he was actually going to anger him even more!

If Zuo Feng would turn the flames in his heart into reality, it’d burn down at least half of the side meeting chamber. Luckily he restrained himself.

Di Lin saw that Zuo Feng wasn’t reacting no matter what he did and decided to throw caution to the window. He extended his branch-like arms to hold onto Zuo Feng’s waist and then rubbed his face against Zuo Feng.

Lei Jue, standing not far from Zuo Feng, sensed a strange mixture of embarrassment, frustration, and resignation….amongst others. Plus, he realized that these were all coming from Zuo Feng. What did Uncle do now to upset their Aunt this much?

Lei Jue’s mind shamelessly supplied several R-rated scenes.

Right then, the announcer declared that every natural ability user above C-rank had arrived, and they could start voting. Since natural ability users were rare to begin with, those ranked level C and above were even rarer. So aside from the candidates, everyone else was present and accounted for.

Xiao Zhicheng had already made up his mind to not go for the Party Leader position. So Lei Jue and Xiao Lingyu decided after a discussion to cast their votes for Chairman Yu from the Elemental User Council.

Though Chairman Yu was a bit stubborn, he was righteous and had worked hard all these years in dedication to the country. When the Vice Party Leader had tried to take biological samples from Lei Jue before, that person had tried very hard to stop it. He had always been working towards protecting elemental users’ rights and dedicated himself to maintaining the relationship between elemental users and the regular folks. It was more than right for him to become the representative for natural ability users.

Lei Jue finished casting his vote and was about to turn around to ask Xiao Lingyu how long it would be before they knew the results, butXiao Lingyu said first, “I need to head to the restroom. You coming?”

Since everyone had cast their votes, those who didn’t care for the result could leave. This meant that several others were already standing up, and Xiao Lingyu’s actions didn’t seem out of place to anyone.

“You go, give me Pipi,” It was a hassle to take the kids to the bathroom, and besides, Lei Jue really did want to know as soon as the results came out, so he didn’t move.

“I’ll be back soon.” Xiao Lingyu paid the envious glances no mind and deposited Pipi inside Lei Jue’s arms.

Since they were both A rank or higher natural ability users, they all sat in the VIP seats, which were in the first row closest to the announcement boards. Lei Jue took the child, and though he didn’t turn around, he could clearly sense the curiosity or envy coming from behind him. But right that moment, his attention was mostly on Zuo Feng and Uncle.

He really didn’t want to be a busybody, but the emotions coming from Zuo Feng made it hard not to be. He was close to Zuo Feng and could clearly see that his face was even redder than before. Though Zuo Feng’s expression wasn’t anything out of the ordinary, it was indescribably… sexual.

Zuo Yan had clearly noticed it too. He frowned and wished Di Lin well in his heart. Then he hesitated and informed Lei Jue, “Not soon after Lingyu left, Feng Gu also walked out. He seemed to be intentionally following Lingyu. Do you want to go check it out?”

If anyone else had said that, Lei Jue would have questioned their intent. For example, maybe they were trying to drive a wedge into his and Xiao Lingyu’s relationship. But Zuo Yan was the rarely seen straightforward type, and besides, he could sense that Zuo Yan meant well, so he answered, “I’ll go take a look.”

He knew that Zuo Yan told him this because there had been rumors on the internet saying that he and Feng Gu had been an item in the past. Zuo Yan wanted to make sure that Feng Gu  didn’t say anything unfounded in front of Xiao Lingyu. But Lei Jue trusted Xiao Lingyu implicitly, so he didn’t worry that Xiao Lingyu would do anything just because of something Feng Gu said. He decided to check it out purely because he wondered if Feng Gu really did head out to talk to Xiao Lingyu. If yes, he wanted to know how Xiao Lingyu would verbally beat the sh*t out of Feng Gu.

The last time Xiao Lingyu and Zuo Feng went to register Uncle with the Elemental User Council, Feng Gu had taken a photo and uploaded it onto the internet along with some suggestive commentary. That action had disgusted Xiao Lingyu for the longest time. Xiao Lingyu had been frustrated at not being able to vent his anger somewhere, so if Feng Gu really did dare show up in front of Xiao Lingyu at that moment, he would definitely get scolded.

Lei Jue held his two children, and when he realized the results weren’t coming out any time soon, he walked toward the bathroom.

As for Xiao Lingyu, he had just walked out from the stalls after peeing and was washing his hands when a shadow suddenly fell over him and blocked a part of his light.

Xiao Lingyu realized it was Feng Gu and then continued washing his hands as if he hadn’t seen anything.

Feng Gu paused not far away from the door to the bathroom.

He was actually out to grab a smoke. When he came to cast his vote, he had guessed that he would run into Xiao Lingyu and Lei Jue, but when he actually saw the five of them together as one big happy family, he finally realized how much that hurt. He couldn’t be calm, especially when Lei Jue’s gaze never once landed on him. When those three amazing children called Xiao Lingyu “daddy,” Feng Gu wished desperately that time would go back to the moment he first met Lei Jue.

But it was all too late now. Lei Jue already had kids with Xiao Lingyu, and the relationship between them was going well.

“Have you never seen anyone wash their hands?” Xiao Lingyu was a bit speechless and asked without turning his head.

“Xiao Lingyu –” Feng Gu gritted his teeth, “Why did you marry Lei Jue?”

“Don’t you know?” Xiao Lingyu snorted in laughter. What use is pretending? Didn’t everyone assume that it had been a political marriage?

“I don’t know!” Feng Gu beat down his anger. He was very curious, but he didn’t want people to know that he regretted what he had done, so much that the regret was tearing him up apart. Though the entire world already figured it out.

“You don’t love him; you weren’t even in love back then! There can’t be any love between you and him!” At that time, Lei Jue had still been in love with him, and that couldn’t have been faked.

“Don’t make it seem like you understand Jue or me,” Xiao Lingyu stuck both hands in his pocket, “Yes, I didn’t like him then but marrying Lei Jue was the best thing I could have done my entire life. Because if I marry the wrong person, I can always have another marriage. But if I miss marrying him, then I’d have missed the entire world. I think you know exactly how painful it is to miss the chance at marrying him, don’t you?” Xiao Lingyu paused after he asked the question, and a trace of laughter flashed across his eyes.

Feng Gu didn’t notice anything off because all of his attention was focused on the regret.

Then the door to the bathroom was suddenly pushed up. Xiao Lingyu and Feng Gu turned around to look and watched two little toddlers waddle their way in.

“Daddy?” Pipi revealed four little baby teeth and lifted his head as he called out sweetly. Then he grabbed a tight hold of Xiao Lingyu’s leg and cried out, “Nappy!” They rushed over so early this morning that he hadn’t slept enough!

“Okay, Daddy will help you fall asleep in a bit. Where’s Mommy?” Xiao Lingyu bent down and held a son in each arm.

“Mommy!” Kangkang pointed to the outside. “Enng!”

“Let’s go find Mommy,” Xiao Lingyu couldn’t see anyone else. Only until he walked out of the bathroom and saw Lei Jue, who had been quietly leaning against the wall, turn around did his world become colorful again.

There were so many people around him, but he couldn’t see any of them. He only seemed to have eyes for Lei Jue.

“How come you’re standing here?” Xiao Lingyu laughed and walked over, putting their younger son into Lei Jue’s arms. “We’ve only just separated and you miss me already?”

“Not at all,” Lei Jue said and then saw that Xiao Lingyu was a bit disappointed. He smiled lazily and said, “When did I ever stop thinking about you?”

Xiao Lingyu’s jaw dropped.

Hey, Lei Jue! You saying sweet nothings like this in public will easily anger our audience!

Xiao Lingyu pressed a fist to his lips and coughed lightly. He wasn’t afraid of the crowd laughing at him as he said, “What should I do? I feel so energetic I can go out and run for an hour.”

Lei Jue’s smile deepened. He nodded and said, “Then we can go out and run together after the results.” With that, he headed towards the voting hall, but Xiao Lingyu grabbed him.

Xiao Lingyu circled once around Lei Jue.

“What are you doing?” Lei Jue asked in confusion.

“Let me make a circle around my entire world for now,” Xiao Lingyu answered.

Lei Jue: “…”

No matter how unperturbed he was, he couldn’t stop his heart from beating faster. How can this person touch the softest part of him?

Xiao Lingyu didn’t leave Lei Jue too much time to be touched. He hugged Lei Jue, and the two walked toward the voting hall. How could he even remember there was someone named Feng?

Feng Gu got a random demonstration of them being lovey-dovey. He had been feeling sorry for himself and now he only felt worse. But he adjusted his mood very quickly and, as he thought of something, a cold smile spread across his lips.

The smile lasted for about 30 seconds when his communicator pinged.

— Those who follow Party Leader Li won’t have a happy ending.

The sender didn’t sign their name, and he couldn’t figure out where the message was sent from, but when Feng Gu saw the message, the smile completely disappeared from his face.

What did that mean? Who sent it?! Did someone figure out his father had left with Party leader L?

Feng Gu instantly panicked, but all his attempts at contacting Party Leader Li or his father failed!

He didn’t return to the side meeting chamber and didn’t know that chaos was currently reigning in the side meeting chamber. Lei Jeu and Xiao Lingyu didn’t vote for Xiao Zhicheng, but Xiao Zhicheng still got a surprisingly high number of votes. But that wasn’t the main point. The main thing was that they had never anticipated in a million years that the natural elemental user representative with the highest number of votes would be Lei Jue!
