“Tongtong…Mommy will never take you to the zoo again,” The woman said as she struggled to pick up her son.

The crowd watched in sadness. Most of the people there were elderly people who had grandchildren of their own or parents with children of their own. They could understand the devastation of losing a child.

Lei Jue felt helpless. He glanced down at his son and daughter, still protected within his arms. He couldn’t help but smooth their hair. The little princess’ hair was damp from the rain, but she didn’t cry or make a fuss. She was really kind and considerate. As for the little tree person, he had remained glued to Lei Jue’s clothing.

Xiao Lingyu turned around then and instructed, “Lu Xian and Qi Yu. You two work with our comrades in the police force and send these visitors home.”

The two nodded and quickly started making arrangements. These visitors had their injuries treated by Lei Jue, so most of them stood up cooperatively. Just as they were about to depart, they suddenly heard a babyish voice cry out, “Dad, want!”

Pipi pointed to the ground and declared, “Want!”

Everyone looked at Pipi.

Xiao Lingyu considered for a moment and then shook his head and said, “No, what if you shock someone?”

But Pipi twisted his tiny body around insistently, “En!” His chubby white finger pointed at the child named “Tongtong” as he demanded, “Want!”

“Lingyu, put him down,” Lei Jue thought of something and walked over. He created a green shield, about the size of a tent, around them.

“My good son, please don’t let out electrical currents, alright?” With that, Xiao Lingyu carefully put Pipi onto the ground.

Unexpectedly, Pipi suddenly stood up and walked very unsteadily toward the child called “Tongtong.” Then, in an imitation of what Lei Jue did as he healed people, he also put his tiny hands on the back of the child’s hand.

Everyone on site held their breath.

Everyone had said the oldest grandson of the Xiao family had supernatural abilities. Could he bring about a miracle?

Xiao Lingyu and Lei Jue’s hearts were in their throats. They hoped for a miracle and so did the child’s mother.

At that time, nobody noticed that when Pipi was put on the ground the rain started to slow down. The raindrops turned smaller and smaller, and it was just a short while before the downpour turned into a drizzle and the dark skies gradually lightened into a shade of blue.

“Buffy! Fy!” Pipi chanted in a baby voice and never stopped sending out healing energy from his hands. His energy was different from Lei Jue’s emerald green. It was a shade… that was particularly warm and fresh, like the green-yellow of a freshly sprouted sapling. This shade of green quickly enveloped Tongtong, and the child’s face started to pinken.

Tongtong’s body was warming up, which was something that his mother holding him felt most keenly. She looked at her son in disbelief and then back at Pipi, not daring to breathe lest this was a dream and her breathing disrupt the dream.

Lei Jue and Xiao Lingyu glanced at each other and saw the same message in each other’s eyes: Our oldest is amazing!

Lei Jue quietly asked Xiao Lingyu, “What’s buffy supposed to be?”

Xiao Lingyu answered with a smile, “He wants to say ‘booboo fly away.’”.

Out of the three children, only Kangkang didn’t have any healing abilities. So sometimes, when he accidentally got injured as a tree-person, Lei Jue would heal him and accompany that effort with  “booboo fly away.” Clearly, their oldest had taken that to heart.

Five minutes later, Tongtong opened his eyes, and Pipi said again, “Buffy!”

It was so quiet around them that they could hear a pin drop. All that was left was the chirping of the birds. But then something even more unexpected happened. A net of green light slowly radiated outwards from where Pipi stood. Where it encountered greenery, the destroyed grass was revived and the wilted flowers came back to live again and actually bloomed even brighter. Even the trees that were uprooted by the giant bugs once again reestablished themselves. Only the evil-doers remained dead and were not revived by this source of energy.

But the incredible phenomenon of everything becoming spring-like once again still shocked everyone. Xiao Lingyu and Lei Jue didn’t know what to say about this, so they organized several of their friends to work together to right the trees.

The visitors survived the disaster thanks to Xiao Lingyu and Lei Jue. Now that they were safe, people weren’t in a rush to leave. Those that were mentally more fragile went into the flightcraft to rest. The more resilient ones started to pick up some of the debris and throw away the trash since they weren’t strong enough to help with righting the trees. They did manage to right the chairs and some of the other public facilities.

“You can leave this to me. You and some of the others take care of those.” Lei Jue nudged his chin toward the pile of beast-people corpses and told Xiao Lingyu.

Xiao Lingyu nodded and then hauled their oldest, who was now playing with slime after demonstrating “necromancy,” back into his arms. Then he started chatting with some of the police members, trying to figure out how to dispose of the beast-people’s bodies.

As he chatted, Xiao Lingyu suddenly paused. He scanned his surroundings and then walked quickly over to Lei Jue, “Babe, have you seen the two policemen who dropped Zuo Feng off?”

Lei Jue shook his head, “No, I haven’t.”

“What is it?” Lei Jue asked.

“Something’s not right.” Xiao Lingyu double-checked that Emperor Suron was still within his zone of influence and then called Yu Le, who had gotten to the zoo before they did. “Yu Le, did you see anyone from the Interstellar Police come?”

“Ah, no,” Yu Le answered, “When I came, it was just a few of the local police on duty, and they’re all here,” He had verified their outfits and their employee IDs, “There were some new supports, and those came from our zone too. They’re all here as well. What’s up, Boss?”

“Nothing. Carry on,” Xiao Lingyu instructed and then thought for a moment before telling Lei Jue, “Don’t get too far away from me.”

“Got it. There’s no need to worry. I’m not afraid of getting hurt,” Lei Jue smiled and patted Xiao Lingyu’s arm, “You keep on doing what you have to do. I’ll go find Zuo Feng and dry my clothes. It’s a little too damp.”

“Go,” XIao Lingyu glanced at Zuo Feng who was saying something into a communicator. Then he continued chatting with and asking the police follow-up questions.

Zuo Feng saw that Lei Jue was coming over to dry his clothes and turned off his communicator. He indicated for Lei Jue to go to the flightcraft to also dry the children’s clothes and their diapers. Lei Jue thought that was a good idea and followed him over.

Xiao Lingyu would occasionally keep an eye out for what Lei Jue was doing. When he saw Lei Jue and Zuo Feng walk toward the flightcraft and a sense of uneasiness rose up in his heart. He called out loudly, “Jue!”

Lei Jue turned around and answered, “What is it?”

Everyone gazed at the couple. They didn’t know why a simple call and answer would fill the air with a lovey-dovey atmosphere.

Probably because Xiao Lingyu had called out too romantically and Lei Jue’s smile as he answered was too in love.

Xiao Lingyu glanced at Zuo Feng standing behind Lei Jue back and stopped himself from saying something. But in that space, Zuo Feng somehow pulled out a knife and jabbed it violently towards Lei Jue!

“Oomph,” Lei Jue stumbled at the force from behind him. He turned around to see what the hell Zuo Feng was up to. He hadn’t anticipated the knife in Zuo Feng’s hands that was now firmly planted inside his uncle’s body.

“Have you gone mad?!” The smile on Lei Jue’s face instantly vanished without a trace. What was more shocking was that Uncle, who should have the same amazing healing power as Lei Jue did, wasn’t showing any signs of healing!

“Zuo Feng…” Di Lin’s voice was way too weak, “What the hell… are you doing… ?”

As he finished asking this question, his tiny body drooped listlessly.

Stunned, Zuo Feng looked down at the dagger in his hands. He thought of something, and the blood rushed out of his face.

“Di Lin?” The words sqn u

Di Lin didn’t respond at all.
