On the way there, Di Lin had half-jokingly asked Zuo Feng how he was going to make the introductions once they arrived at the Zuos. Zuo Feng had said at the time that he’ll make the introductions how they should have been made but didn’t give any specifics. Di Lin hadn’t asked further questions, but he also didn’t think that Zuo Feng really would introduce him like that.

Boyfriend.

A word that made sweetness bubble inside him, but it also made him sad at that moment.

Di Lin leaned against Zuo Feng and smiled humbly. But when he greeted them, his voice was so soft that Ding Yuwen and Zuo Nian, who had stepped out afterward, couldn’t hear a thing.

Zuo Feng said, “Mom, he’s not feeling well now. Let’s talk inside.”

Ding Yuwen hurriedly apologized, “Right, right, right. I’m just too happy now. This is the first time any of our children have brought their significant other home. Nian, don’t follow me around, hurry and go get your dad’s AI chair so that your brother’s friend can sit.”

He looked so weak that he must be extremely fragile. Ding Yuwen suppressed the worry in her heart and then asked Zuo Feng again, “Oh, did you tell your father? This is the first time you’re bringing someone home. Your dad has to meet him.”

Zuo Feng nodded, “I did. Dad will come back when he’s done. I also told my older brother and Yan. Also, mom, Di Lin will be staying with me from now on.”

“Ah, welcome.” Ding Yuwen said and looked at Lei Jue. She only saw two children, so she asked in confusion, “Lei, where’s Kangkang? Did you not bring him?”

“I did. You’ll see him in a bit,” Lei Jue scratched his back. That brat wasn’t dependable and was now crawling up and down his body like a little caterpillar.

Though Ding Yuwen was slightly puzzled, she didn’t ask any more since Lei Jue had said she’d be able to see him in a bit. She saw that her daughter had pushed the AI wheelchair out and went to help Di Lin sit down on it.

Di Lin breathed out and relaxed. Right now, it was a challenge for him to walk even two steps, but he hadn’t wanted to be held “the first time” he visited and leave a bad impression on the Zuos. So he had to force himself. Luckily, Mrs. Zuo was an observant person.

“Mrs. Zuo, we’re sorry for the trouble,” Lei Jue said with a smile as he saw Ding Yuwen personally make the arrangements for guest rooms for himself and the children.

“Not at all. Usually, everyone’s busy, and it’s just me at home. At most, Nian keeps me company. Now that you’re here, things will be lively,” Ding Yuwen told the servants to find the guest room with the best light on the floor the children will be living on. Then she carefully asked Lei Jue and Di Lin about their preferences and needs.

“Mom, Di Lin is staying with me, and you don’t have to worry about him. I’ll watch him. As for Lei Jue and the kiddos, just help him with Qiuqiu. He can do what he wants with the others. Don’t be so polite with him. He might seem like a little sheep, but he’s not that weak, and he won’t let himself suffer,” Didn’t everyone know this?! Zuo Feng said unabashedly and then took Di Lin back to his own room.

Outside the door,  Ding Yunwen smiled awkwardly, “Jue, don’t pay any mind to that. Feng really does consider you a friend.”

Lei Jue turned around, treating this as his own home, “He’s not wrong. Mrs. Zuo, there’s no need to be courteous around me, and I’m not going to be formal around you either. Could you watch Qiuqiu for me? I want to go to the restroom…”

Dammit, he’s gonna burst!

Ding Yuwen took Qiuqiu, who remembered this grandma and didn’t make a fuss. The child simply looked puzzled at the new surroundings; she hadn’t been here before.

Zuo Nian adored the little princess and rushed up to play with her.

Lei Jue walked into the bathroom and held his oldest with one hand while he unbuttoned his pants with the other. His other son was still crawling around on his back. Even if these were his own children, it was still awkward to pee like this. But he had to put that out of his mind since he really couldn’t let others watch over these little electricity generators.

Pipi hung on Lei Jue and glanced around the room. He acted as he normally did when going outside. He liked these strange new places.

Lei Jue thought it was great that his son wasn’t paying him any attention. So he dug out his penis and started to pee…

Pipi heard the sound of water tinkling and suddenly turned around to stare at the source of the sound. He saw something and pointed at it with his chubby fingers, “Mommy! Bug!”

Lei Jue instantly tensed and looked at where his son was pointing. Immediately, his expression darkened. “That’s not a bug. Bug is over there,” He randomly indicated a direction with his chin and started to distract his son, “See it? There.”

Pipi looked over “there” and didn’t see any bug at all. When he turned around, trying to catch another glimpse of the bug on mommy’s body, mommy had already pulled up his pans!

The bug was gone!

His curious face instantly soured, and he pressed his lips together, looking like he was about to cry. Lei Jue hurriedly ran out, terrified, with the child! How was he going to explain destroying their host’s house as soon as they arrived!

So the Zuo family servants suddenly discovered their recently arrived guests rushing out of the Zuo family home at lightning speed.

What was going on?

Ding Yuwen also saw Lei Jue run out and assumed something had gone wrong, so she hurried out after him. “Lei, what is it? Is there something wrong?”

“No, Mrs. Zuo. It’s that-that Pipi got a little excited just now. I’m worried he’ll try to play with his natural abilities, so I wanted to get out here first.” Lei Jue thought that he might be the first father to worry about his son destroying someone’s home.

“Ah, what can we do about that?” Ding Yuwen finally figured things out. The kid was a walking generator, and everyone in the country knew that he could destroy buildings when he got excited. But her house really wasn’t insulated against electricity.

“Mrs. Zuo, if you don’t mind, could I please build a movable multifunction home in your yard?” Lei Jue discovered that he became a lot more shameless after the birth of his son, “If I can, then I’ll get one in the yard.”

“That won’t be a problem. But this is your first time staying with us, and I feel so bad that you can’t stay in the main house with us. You just hang on, and I’ll have someone deliver the house,” Ding Yuwen really felt like laughing and crying. She wanted to be a good hostess, but what could she do? Their child came with electricity, and there was nothing she could do about it.

“We’re so sorry about this, Auntie,” Lei Jue… also had nothing to stay.

“Not at all, not at all.” Ding Yuwen said and then summoned the butler. She instructed him to order two of the best-equipped homes. Lei Jue was about to pay, but Ding Yuwen refused, “Every time you and Lingyu come to heal my husband, we never pay you the doctor’s fee or even fuel fee. If you really want to be so precise, you wouldn’t be treating us like family.”

“Then… thank you, Auntie Zuo,” Lei Jue didn’t fight over it anymore. He thought about it and decided that they’ll just help out some more if there are problems in the future.

Lei Jue sent Xiao Lingyu a message and told him that they were staying with the Zuos. After that, he put a thick ring of healing energy around Pipi to stop him from electrocuting anyone. Then he brought Pipi to the Zuo family ecosphere, which was actually quite amazing. There were birds and butterflies there year-round, which should be fun for the kiddos.

Ding Wenyu held Qiuqiu and walked with them. She took the opportunity to ask Lei Jue questions about Di Lin.

On the other hand, Di Lin followed Zuo Feng into their room and immediately saw the new pot in the room as well as dozens and dozens of his favorite nutrient liquid.

He had wanted to buy these nutrient liquids before, but nobody actually sold them. He had really wanted a sip a couple days ago and thought it was too much trouble, so he hadn’t actually asked Lei Jue. Now that he saw them, he realized he had a craving for them.

“Want some?” Zou Feng asked.

“Yeah,” Di Lin propped himself up against the headboard. He debated with himself and then decided to not turn back into a tree. The constant shifting would take too much energy and besides, he wanted to spend more time with Zuo Feng as a human. After all, he didn’t know if he’d still have a chance in the future.

Zuo Feng brought the nutrient liquid over and popped a straw in it. Di Lin sucked on the straw and, as expected, he tasted the familiar sweetness with a bit of tang to it. Usually, the nutrient liquid for plants all tasted strange, but the one Zuo Feng found for him was very special. It tasted a bit like juice, and he could drink it as both a tree and a human. He liked it in both forms.

Di Lin drank down about half a bottle and felt better. He bit down on the straw and looked at Zuo Feng.

“What is it?” Zuo Feng sat down next to Di Lin. His voice was very soft, which made him appear extra gentle. “Are you not feeling well?”

“No,” Di Lin said with a smile, “Just that, Jue might hit me for this, but I never thought the place I’d be most relaxed in would be here,” Could this be the difference between someone you like and your nephew? You liked both but in different ways.

“This is your home. Lei Jue’s place is your nephew’s home. Of course it’s different,” Zuo Feng realized that Di Lin was done with the drink and set the liquid nutrient aside. Then he brought over the Offspring Tree that Lei Jue gave him and asked, “Say, is it better to plant this in our room or in the ecosphere?”

“Plant it in the room first. When it gets bigger, we’ll move it. With Jue here, we don’t have to worry about transplanting,” Di Lin looked at the new pot that Zuo Feng bought him and said, “Just plant it there.”

“Sure, you got it,” Zuo Feng said and brought over the nutrient soil. He didn’t care that it was troublesome and placed the soil in the pot by the bed. He mainly wanted Di Lin to watch so that he wouldn’t be bored all the time on the bed.

“I’ll go call Lei Jue and have him provide some life energy,” With that, Zuo Feng exited the room.

Di Lin heard the sound of the door closing and his fist closed tightly around the bedsheet.

It f*cking hurt!

He couldn’t be sure whether the wound hurt more or the possibility of being separated hurt more.

At the thought of separation, Di Lin tried his hardest to turn back into a tree human again.

Then he panted and clambered onto the bedside table and lay there, extending his feet so they grew longer than a noodle and stuck them inside the remaining half a bottle of nutrient liquid.

He has to try hard to absorb more nutrients; he has to work hard at trying to live longer.

Who knows? He might be able to last until the primary fruit ripens or until Lei Jue finds a way to save him.

So when Zuo Feng brought Lei Jue inside, they found Di Lin on the bedside table with one leg extended into the nutrient liquid. He did seem a little less wilted than before.

“I told you, love is the best nutrient,” Lei Jue looked at the Offspring Tree, which had grown a bit since they left and then at his Uncle, who suddenly seemed like he had the energy to flirt again, “If you two have nothing better to do, you might as well roll around in bed. Maybe in a few days, the flower will bloom. After all, Huainan is so much warmer than Northern Ling.”

“How come you shifted again? Isn’t that tiring?” Zuo Feng picked Di Lin up and put him on his shoulder. Then he continued working on the Offspring Tree. He followed Lei Jue’s instructions and filled the pot with two-thirds soil before putting the Offspring Tree in it. Then he packed the rest of the pot with soil.

Lei Jue provided the tree some life energy, and the Offspring Tree quickly rooted itself. He made sure that nothing went wrong before heading out to meet Xiao Lingyu. Xiao Lingyu knew that he and the kids were here, so he’d come too lest Pipi suddenly decided to set off an explosion.

Zuo Feng cleaned up the dirt on the ground and then sat down. He gently picked Di Lin up from his shoulder and placed the tree human on the bed, “I’m going to go wash my hands.”

Di Lin lay on the bed and looked at Zuo Feng quietly. Then he put aside how troublesome it was and changed back into a human.

Zuo Feng fell silent as he walked out after having washed his hands.

“If you wanted to take off your clothes, how come you didn’t tell me?” Zuo Feng sat by the bed and glanced with a half-smile at the pile of discarded clothes by the bed, left there when Di Lin had shifted between forms.

“I wasn’t thinking of taking off my clothes.” Di Lin said innocently.

“Ah, didn’t think of taking off your clothes,” Zuo Feng glanced at Di Lin’s lower half and said self-consciously with his ears red, “You were just thinking of sleeping with me, right?”

Di Lin, “…”

It was rare that Zuo Feng wasn’t setting him on fire on the bed, but he felt like self-combusting!
