The Second Breakup – Part Thirty-Three, 1 of 2

The place where Lu Mian and Song Yucheng were going to meet was Song Yucheng’s home.

The main reason was that Lu Mian had something to do in the afternoon, and it would be evening when he was done. So, he decided to go to Song Yucheng’s place instead of meeting him outside.

However, even at home, Song Yucheng didn’t do much as a host. Even when he saw Lu Mian getting out of his car with food, he let Lu Mian serve himself.

Lu Mian’s cooking was as good as ever, and the few ordinary dishes he made were comparable to that of a great chef. Song Yucheng enjoyed the food and did not hesitate to praise Lu Mian. However, Lu Ming was a little nervous, and even blushed after being praised.

Beauty and food are always the most difficult things to refuse. So, after he had eaten and drunk his fill, Song Yucheng was able to let his guard down a bit, and briefly talk about the latest happenings. However, while talking about the changes in the industry, Lu Mian suddenly asked Song Yucheng, “What are you going to do next?”

Lu Mian knew about Song Yucheng’s past, and he understood that Cao Kun must be one of the targets of Song Yucheng’s revenge. But Song Yuzheng was one of Cao Kun’s managers, so he had to find a new way out if he wanted to get revenge.

As expected, Song Yucheng’s answer was quite straightforward. “I want to start my own studio,” he said.

“Do you need any help?”

“No.” Song Yucheng refused. He went into the study, and handed him the rest of the script they had agreed upon. “Let’s get down to business. This is the script I promised you.”

“Mm.” Lu Mian didn’t read it. He put it in his bag.

“Aren’t you afraid that I wrote something stupid?” Song Yucheng teased him.

“You won’t.” Lu Mian looked very serious, and the complete trust he showed was somehow so familiar to Song Yucheng that he even had an impulse to pat his head. In the end, however, he restrained himself and simply changed the subject. “I heard that Cao Kun has recently gone to open a farm?”

“No.” Lu Mian seemed a bit low in spirits because he did not get any head pets. But when he turned to look at the time, he saw that it was late, so he simply got up and said goodbye to Song Yucheng.

Perhaps it was because what he said next was a difficult thing to say, but Lu Mian took the rare initiative to approach Song Yucheng, and said in his ear, “Not a farm. I told him to train a dog for me, the breed that can herd sheep. It’s a pity that Cao Kun can’t even do this little thing.”

The breath in his ear made Song Yucheng feel a little numb, and he asked, “What breed of dog?”

But then, Lu Mian’s answer made him laugh out loud.

Lu Mian said, “A husky.”

“Pfft.” God damn! A sled dog to shepherd sheep? Lu Mian was getting more and more sadistic!

But Lu Mian seemed as if he was afraid of being laughed at by Song Yucheng, and quickly left with his things. The laughter from Song Yucheng’s kept coming from behind him, and he pretended not to hear it.

He didn’t care if he was laughed at or not!

Lu Mian even thought about sending Cao Kun to Alaska.

The time spent with Lu Mian was always very pleasant. Song Yucheng didn’t stop laughing until Lu Mian was far, far away.

System: Cao Kun is actually quite pitiful.

“How so? Cao Kun is eager to be tortured by Lu Mian.”

“Why?” The System was puzzled.

“Because that’s the only way he’ll be able to relax and watch the show. But from now on, he won’t be able to relax anymore.”

Cao Kun was not a fool, and it was definitely no coincidence that Picture Domain could become one of the three major star-making companies in the entertainment industry. Cao Kun must have known about several things long ago, but it wasn’t any of his business, nor profitable, so he just sat back and watched to see if there were any benefits to be reaped. Now that those small fish were in a net, Cao Kun was sure to make a move.

As expected, not long afterwards, Song Yucheng received a message from the company’s legal department, saying that Cao Kun wanted to access the files and contracts of all the artistes under Song Yucheng’s management.

So he was investigating him. Song Yucheng roughly understood what Cao Kun wanted. But Cao Kun was acting prematurely, so he wouldn’t find anything.

And since he was Cao Kun’s “dog”, he was definitely going to play this role to the fullest. Song Yucheng sent a text message in response.

“They’re Picture Domain’s people, so it’s normal for Cao Kun to want to see their info. You don’t need to tell me such things in the future.”

Then, he went back to his own business at hand. After Ding Mingcheng’s ambush, he’d sent Tang Shi abroad to study.

It wasn’t to hide him, but to give him a chance to start all over again, and at the same time, to give Tang Shi time to relax. Tang Shi had suffered too much mental and physical torture in the past six months, and now he was in the limelight again, so he had to stop and recuperate in order to ensure a glorious return in the future.

As for Hao Yi and Bai Siwei, their preliminary training was over. All that was left was to get a good script.

But now Song Yucheng had a really good script in his hands. It was so good that you could say it had been prepared for Bai Siwei and Hao Yi. If he calculated the time carefully, he could push the schedule forward and have it released as a year-end New Year’s movie.

Moreover, Song Yuxiong had other plans in mind, so he had to make all the arrangements in the time he had left.

However, on Cao Kun’s end, after seeing Song Yucheng’s reply to the text message and Tang Shi’s contract, he couldn’t help but laugh.

“Is it good or bad?” Yan Qi was puzzled.

“There’s no good or bad. It’s just Xie Qianchen preparing to bite someone.”

“Bite?” Yan Qi was stunned at first, then immediately understood what Cao Kun was trying to say. What Cao Kun was trying to say was that Song Yucheng wanted to take revenge on him.

If it were anyone else, Yan Qi would have dismissed it, but it was Xie Qianchen. He was worried for his childhood friend.

Xie Qianchen had the power to take Ding Mingcheng down. He was very clever, and thought way outside the box to solve his problems.

What’s more, compared to Ding Mingcheng and the others, Cao Kun was the real culprit. Yan Qi didn’t think that Xie Qianchen was a Stockholm patient, and he knew that Xie Qianchen had long hated Cao Kun to the bone. Now, after finishing off Ding Mingcheng and the others, he was afraid that the next thing he was going to clean up was Cao Kun!

Yan Qi finally understood the reason why he kept sensing danger. It was not because of Cao Kun, but because of Song Yucheng.

The current Xie Qianchen was like a double-edged sword. He could open up new territory for Cao Kun, but he could also turn around and stab Cao Kun, hard.

“What are you planning to do?” Yan Qi felt that Cao Kun’s situation was quite dangerous.

“Not much of a plan, unless Xie Qianchen wants half of the film industry to accompany him to his grave. Otherwise, he can only keep on enduring.” After Cao Kun finished speaking, he made a face of pity, his expression perverted to the extreme. “Actually, I quite like his look of humiliation for having to endure all this.”

As he spoke, he clicked on a photo on the computer. The background of the photo was somewhere in the company, and showed Song Yucheng leaning against the wall while smoking and watching Qi Luo and a few others training indoors. The decadent handsomeness, much like a caged bird of prey, was both beautiful and desolate.

“There’s no one else who can be more perfect than Xie Qianchen in the entire entertainment industry.” Cao Kun touched Xie Qianchen’s face in the photo, and his eyes were clearly more than a little lustfully obsessed. “He used to be a little short on flavour, but in the past two years, he’s matured.”

“What are you planning?” Yan Qi was struck by panic.

“Nothing. I’ll just go take a look. The whole world is saying that Xie Qianchen belongs to Cao Kun, and I think it’ll be a good thing to make it the truth.” After saying that, Cao Kun got up and walked out.

Yan Qi wanted to stop him, but Cao Kun shrugged him off this time.
