The Second Breakup – Part Thirty-Three, 2 of 2

Song Yucheng’s office.

Song Yucheng was listening to several assistants report on Qi Luo’s recent training progress, when Cao Kun walked to the door. He was completely unaware of his presence.

He listened attentively, without taking his eyes off of them, but Cao Kun still felt that Song Yucheng was doing it on purpose.

In Cao Kun’s impression, how could someone like Song Yucheng, who was so alert that he could not even fall asleep, fail to notice the presence of other people around him? So if he was not talking to him now, he was probably upset about something.

But Cao Kun liked Song Yucheng’s little show of temper. The thrill was truly satisfying only when such a temperament was forcibly broken and crushed.

Unfortunately, however, Cao Kun’s brain was imagining a bit too much. Song Yucheng didn’t pay any attention to him not because of any so-called temper, but simply because… He didn’t have the time.

After the ban on Director Yang’s play was lifted, Shen Yi returned to the crew. There was a two-week delay, so now after resuming shooting, he was basically working non-stop, day and night.

The assistant told him that Shen Yi had lost three pounds in the past few days.

“That’s not good. Is he too tired to eat, or is there another reason?” Song Yucheng frowned, a hint of worry flashing in his eyes. Shen Yi was not a naturally skinny person. He was skinny because he had disciplined himself. The daily thirteen hours of shooting was very tiring, and on top of that, Song Yucheng had put a lot of pressure on him to become a fast learner, and he lost a lot of weight. If he lost any more weight, he would be in danger. So Song Yucheng was a little worried, and asked Shen Yi’s assistant more questions.

“Director Yang said it might be because he’s too immersed in the drama. After the movie started, Shen Yi was completely immersed in the role and couldn’t get out. Plus, even though he’s a supporting actor, he had a heavy part to play. He was asked to support several important scenes which were turning points. I’m afraid that…”

“Got it. I’ll contact Director Yang later and ask him to move Shen Yi’s parts. Call Shen Yi back tomorrow and get him to rest for two days.”

“Then should I contact a psychiatrist…”

“No, just come back tomorrow and send him straight to my house.”

“Yes, sir.” The assistant was relieved after hearing this. He had been working for Xie Qianchen for a long time, and knew that his methods were more effective than those of a psychiatrist in Shen Yi’s case.

He was worried that Xie Qianchen would not care about Shen Yi because he was so cold to him, so he was relieved to hear that.

It’s Brother Xie after all — he wouldn’t make things difficult for his artistes.

After Shen Yi’s assistant finished his report, Qi Luo’s assistant also had something to say. The child closed himself up in the practice room recently, and had not come out. Qi Luo was a simple person, so it was easy to figure him out. However, the assistant was also worried that the child might be too stifled and tired.

Song Yucheng frowned. “Tiredness is a trivial matter. Now tell me, how is he not losing any weight even though he’s so busy?”

“Um…” The assistant was helpless. Qi Luo was very good at being cute. He would silently stare at you for a while with his large eyes, and your heart would melt. Now, even the toughest and sternest physical fitness trainers would occasionally feed him in secret.

Song Yucheng knew what was going on as soon as he saw his expression. He shook his head helplessly, but gave the order anyway.

“I don’t care what method you use. Qi Luo must be trained up before the New Year. He will debut after the New Year, and he is a beautiful boy, so some abs are fine, but fat is absolutely not okay!”

“Yes sir, of course.” The assistant nodded quickly, and there was a smile in his eyes. A debut was a good thing, and with the resources allocated to him, plus Xie Qianchen’s favour, Qi Luo was going to shine brighter than Shen Yi.

As for the remaining two, Song Yucheng just instructed his assistant to make more preparations over the next two days. Bai Siwei was going to keep speaking her lines, and in two days, he would take them to an audition.

These things seemed easy, but added together, it was a lot of trouble. So, by the time Song Yucheng had answered everyone’s questions, Cao Kun had been waiting outside the door for more than half an hour.

“Can I come in?” Cao Kun leaned against the door and knocked when the office was quiet again.

“Sorry, I wasn’t paying attention.” Song Yucheng squinted and looked Cao Kun up and down, before his gaze finally fell on Cao Kun’s eyes, which were filled with a desire to conquer.

Was this an attempt to turn back the clock? Interesting.

Song Yucheng laughed knowingly. However, in Cao Kun’s eyes, this laugh was a provocation, or perhaps mockery. Either way, it was very much to his liking.

Cao Kun walked through the door, went behind Song Yucheng’s chair, and wrapped his arms around Song Yucheng’s body, placing Song Yucheng between himself and the table. He lowered his head close to his ear and whispered, “Qianchen, tell me, what are you thinking about now?”

“Be honest with me. You really want to kill me, don’t you? You want to do to me what you did to Ding Mingcheng and the others. You want to leave me with nothing to my name, and finally have me weeping and kneeling at your feet, asking for forgiveness as I atone for my sins.”

Cao Kun’s voice grew uglier as he spoke, till most of his chest was pressed against the back of Song Yucheng’s chair. From a distance, Song Yucheng looked as if he was being held lovingly in his arms.

The door to Song Yucheng’s office was open all that while. In other words, whomever passing by could easily see what was going on in the office.

Song Yucheng narrowed his eyes. Cao Kun was playing with fire!
